Sixth Class visit W.I.T.

During “Engineers’ Week”, sixth class pupils met a structural engineer. He explained beams, arches, trusses, compression and tension to them. They were set three challenges.

  1. To build the tallest tower possible from three single sheets of paper.
  2. To build a paper bridge that could support weight. The winning bridge was the bridge that would hold the most coins.
  3. To build an arch with a keystone.
