Mt Melleray school trip by Adam Mulhern
Yesterday on the 20th June 2017 my class from St. Oliver's National School went on our school trip to Mt. Melleray Activity Camp, Co. Waterford. All of the 4th classes went.
We arrived at the Activity Camp at 9:30. The scenery was absolutely amazing. When we arrived we entered the building and had our snacks. Then we went to the field and got split into groups and had a warm up. The warm up was called "The Unfair Mexican stand-off" game. In the game you had to do the action of the number. Me and my partner Joe lost the game.
After the warm up we did archery with Sergio and Raul. I was very bad at archery but I improved from their advice and help. Archery was the first activity. Then we moved on to the zip line. I was a bit nervous but I had all of my turns. Johnny was giving us a push so we could get to the other side where Emilio grabbed us to stop us.
After our lunch we proceeded on to paintball shooting where we had to shoot bottles and milk cartons. We did the shooting with Mike.
Finally in our team games we had to connect the gutters together and roll a tennis ball through the gutters to the finish line. Then we had a tug of war, my team won three out of three games. After the games we had a water fight with Johnny.
We went back to the building to thank all the instructors, then we got back on the bus and went home. I enjoyed all the activities.
Mt. Melleray Activity Camp is an amazing place and I would recommend the camp to anyone. My favourite instructor was Emilio.
