Letter from Mrs .Power

29th Mar 2020

Hi everyone,

Hope you’re all keeping well (and not missing school too much!) We’ve sent out new usernames and passwords that you’ll be able to use after Easter and once you have those, I’ll be able to set more specific work for you.

In the meantime, I see that quite a few of you have been practising on IXL and well done to you. This week, for those of you who have access to a device, please practise some of the skills in the Money section for 5th class. You also now have access to IXL English (same username and password) so you might try out some of those too.

You all brought home some Accelerated Reading books so I hope you’re getting some reading done.

For those of you interested in art, the Twinkl website (Remember to type www.twinkl.ie/offer and enter the code IRLTWINKLHELPS for free access) has some lovely Easter Egg Mindfulness colouring pages. They have lots of other colouring pages too if you type in “Mindfulness Colouring”.

RTE 2 will be broadcasting a new programme, a “home school hub”, from  Monday for an hour each day, 11am – 12 noon. This will have a segment for each class grouping and should definitely be worth a look.

As we’re not allowed to be out and about in the current circumstances, there seems to be a huge variety of home exercise videos for children available on YouTube that you might like to try.

Finally, stay safe and healthy! Hope you still get to enjoy your Easter eggs.

Mrs. Power.
