Letter from Junior Infant teachers
Hi everybody.
We hope you all had a lovely Easter and got lots of treats from the Easter Bunny! The weather has been lovely so we hope you are getting lots of fresh air. We are so proud of all the hard work you have been doing over the last few weeks. Congratulations to all of you who have logged in to your IXL accounts - both Maths and English. We are delighted to see how well you are doing!! Keep it up. For those of you who haven't logged in yet please give it a try. There are lots of different fun activities to do. Continue on working through your Planet Maths and Starlight books. Try to do one page of each book everyday. Don't forget to practice your handwriting. Try writing short sentences using your Tricky words, words from Starlight and our sentence starters (e.g. I see... I am... We are... Look at...The ... is on the ...She has a...) Someone at home will help! Listen to a story everyday- someone at home might read to you, listen to a story online(laptop, phone whatever device is available). You could use Youtube, StorylineOnline, Oxford Owl, Booktrust.org.uk. etc. Or you could try reading yourself for someone at home!! Some other ideas you could try: Gonoodle- lots of exercises, dances and fun activities P.E. with Joe Wicks (Youtube). Draw hopscotch using chalk. Symmetry drawing - get someone to draw half a picture (butterfly, face, sun..) and you draw the other half. Paint some stones - use paint, chalk, nail polish - whatever you have at home! Don't forget to help out at home and be kind. We really miss you all and are really looking forward to seeing you again soon! Stay safe. Miss Moore & Mrs.Cullinan
