FUN FRIDAY PART 6 - FITTEST IN THE FAMILY
FITTEST IN THE FAMILY:
Instead of Ireland’s Fittest Family, we have Fittest in the Family. Challenge your family members to 4 challenges to find out who is the fittest in your family. Watch the demo videos and check out below how to score.
Challenge #1: Wall sit
With your stopwatch at the ready, make sure your back is flat against a solid wall. Place your feet firmly on the ground, hip width apart. Slide your back down along the wall while bending your legs until they are at a 90 degree angle. Your knees should be directly above your ankles. How long can you hold this position? When you are done, slowly move your back up along the wall and come to a standing position.
Challenge #2: Burpees
Start from a standing position, making sure that there are no overhead obstacles in your way. Lower into a press up position. Jump or step your feet into a squat position. Return to standing. Jump off the ground and clap your hands above your head. How many can you do in 1 minute?
Challenge #3: Plank
Stopwatch at the ready as you lower yourself into press up position. Place your elbows on the ground directly under your shoulders. Make sure that your back is flat from your neck down to your ankles. How long can you hold this position?
Challenge #4: Race
Define a starting point and a finishing line. Make sure that there are no obstacles on the track, and GO.
HOW TO SCORE:
WALL SIT 1 point for every 10 seconds.
BURPEES 1 point per burpee.
PLANK 1 point for every 10 seconds.
RACE Winner 40 points, 2nd 35 points, 3rd 30 points…..etc.
Add up everyone’s scores to find out WHO IS THE FITTEST IN THE FAMILY…..
