Friendship Week 2022
Our Student Council hosted ‘Friendship Week’ in the school. We wanted everyone to notice the
importance of having friends and its effect in contributing positively to one’s mental health. The
We designed posters and hung them up around the school to let classes know
what activities would be happening. Some activities included ‘Random Acts of Kindness’, creating a
whole school friendship chain, singing songs, playing games in groups, writing positive poems about
others, creating friendship bracelets and different artwork. During the week, we also hosted a
‘Design a Friendship Door’ competition where classes could design their door based around
friendship. Classes really enjoyed working together, promoting kindness and having fun with friends.
We also decided to hold an Odd Sock Day in school. We invited every student, teacher
and staff member to wear odd socks. We wanted to celebrate individuality and how every individual
is unique in their own way, similar to each odd sock. We wanted everyone to notice how special
each person in our school community is and to celebrate and include them through kind gestures.
